The Unaccompanied minor policy

The unaccompanied minor service is for applied to children who are 5-14 years old and traveling without a parent, legal guardian or accompaniment who is at least 18 years old. The young travelers are always welcome aboard, subject to the following requirements for their safety:

·      Such kids can only travel on nonstop United or United Express flights. Unaccompanied minor service is not delivered on codeshare flights and other flights operated by their partner airlines.

·      United Airlines Booking does not offer unaccompanied minor service connecting to or from other airlines' flights.

·      Children younger than 5 cannot travel as unaccompanied minors they always require an adult, even if they’re flying with an older unaccompanied child.

·      Unaccompanied minor service is not available for children 15 or older.

·      Young adults’ ages 15 to 17 are allowed to travel alone on any United- or United Express operated flight.

Regular check –in by Flight attendant

Flight attendants at the United AirlinesReservations will check in with your child throughout the flight. The flight attendants will also be available by call button if your child has any queries during the trip.

Food

On flights that offer food for purchase, your child will receive one free food item when booked at United Airlines Booking. You can also pack their favorite snack. Please avoid gel or liquid snacks that exceeds 3.4 ounces, as your child won’t be able to take them through TSA security.

Inflight entertainment

The inflight entertainment options are different depending on the plane. To find out which entertainment options will be available on your child's flight, you can check the Inflight Amenities on the United Airlines Official Site within three days of the flight. Please note that if the plane scheduled for your child's flight changes, the amenities available might change too.
